Nirvana 2 – Preview Release

On November 11, 2010 we made the upcoming Nirvana 2, a work-in-progress, available for preview.  We are very very excited about the reception it has received thus far.  We are letting the adventurous take it for a spin so that we can learn where we stand on a number of engineering related issues.

Some key points about Nirvana 2:

  • It is a complete rewrite from the ground up
  • It will run offline, without an internet connection
  • UI interaction is completely decoupled from network i/o, so it’s wicked fast
  • It has full internationalization support built in under the hood
  • It runs completely on top of the new Nirvana API
  • It is still a work in progress, and browser support is still limited

A Better GTD Experience (video preview)

While we’ve been busy working on new features, we’ve also decided to loop back and improve on some existing features that people have been requesting.  As our mission is to make the experience of GTD as intuitive and effortless as possible, we’re always looking at ways to remove clutter, makes things faster, and help size up your next action without wasting precious brain cycles.

Check out the screencast below to see where we’re headed.

We’re working out the kinks this week and hope to have these changes rolled out soon.

We hope you’re as excited as we are!

Areas of Responsibility: What’s the hold up?

We’re close… we’re really really close.  In fact, Areas of Responsibility in the desktop browser version is ready to ship!  BUT, we realized (in hindsight, like idiots) that we need to make some significant modifications to the mobile version so as to not muck things up for those of you who bounce between desktop and mobile Nirvana, which a lot of folks do.  Specifically, the mobile version doesn’t retain assigned Areas at present, and there is no way to filter or move tasks/projects between Areas.  But we’re on the case.

Timeframe?  I’d say single digit days away from release.  Thanks for understanding.
