Android update

Hi everybody!

It’s time for the long overdue update on whats happening with Android.

After some discussion, and looking at where we’ve got to with Android to date, we’ve decided to abandon the current direction we were taking with the Android app. Instead, we’ve decided to go with the fine folks at WhereCloud to develop the Android version of Nirvana.

In the end, it is the right choice, and should lead to a stronger product on that platform. Thanks to all the beta testers to date who have shared feedback with us. For those of you on Android, you can continue using the beta if it helps you out on your day to day.

While we’re loath to give dates, I can tell you the timeline currently on the boards should see a v1.0 in about 2 months, barring any major hiccups.

Happy New Year

Justa quick post to say that we’re all back in the office, rearing to go, and to wish everyone a prosperous and Happy New Year.  :-)

Happy Holidays

We’d like to wish everyone a happy, relaxing and safe holiday season.  We’re looking forward to spending some quality time with friends and family over the coming days, and we hope you are able to as well.  2012 was a difficult year for many around the world, but here’s raising our glass in a toast to a brighter future for all in 2013 and beyond.  Peace.

Reference Lists and More

A quick note to let everyone know that we’ve pushed out a bunch of updates to Nirvana.  Here’s what’s new:

  • Reference Lists
  • Terminology Alignment: Tasks → Actions; Tags → Contexts
  • Collapsable sections in left navi
  • and a ton of other refinements

Will post a more in-depth look into what this all entails shortly.

In the mean time, detailed Release Notes are here:

N2 Build 508 – Start Week on Monday

An update for our many friends across the pond, you can now (finally) set your calendar week to start on Mondays if you so desire. Our first step down the path towards proper localisation — other languages and date formats to come in future releases — being able to start the week on Monday was a big one for a lot of people, so here it is.

Visit Settings » Preferences… and you’ll find the radio buttons to make this your preferred calendar view – over on the right-side of the Preferences dialog.

We also fixed a rather annoying rendering bug that was affecting Chrome users: that 4 pixel high line that would occasionally appear in the left navi is no longer.  Thank goodness.

As always, release notes are here.

What is GTD®?

GTD® rests on the principle that a person needs to move tasks out of the mind by recording them externally. That way, the mind is freed from the job of remembering everything that needs to be done, and can concentrate on actually performing those tasks.
